Easy Love and Sofia Bolt in Conversation

Looking for a clean break and a fresh start Amelie Rousseaux left her home in France to find herself immersed in the L.A. music scene in 2017.  With a new home and new found inspiration she began writing songs under the name Sofia Bolt. She recorded her debut album, Waves, in just three days and it was released in 2019 on Loantaka Records.

Easy Love is the moniker of multi-instrumentalist Justine Brown. She began writing music after a severe breakup - the outpouring of which became her self titled debut released in 2017. She followed it up with her 2020 release, Wander Feeler on Loantaka Records.

Aside from being label mates both Sofia Bolt and Easy Love share a similar embodiment of effortless cool in their music. 

In Nov 2020 the two artists chatted via Zoom about adjusting to life with Covid, the process of making records, what inspires their songwriting, how playing a guitar solo can be like surfing, and the importance of creating spaces where women feel free to express themselves.
