What is your art?
Most of my art practice is geared toward music. I just released my second album How I Do My Hair Now, I have a third album written and I’ve been working on another concept album that I’ve been researching and writing for the past few years. Lots of collaborations with other Artists coming up too, both as a producer and songwriter. I have a photo project I worked on from 2013-2019 being published within the next couple months in a great Queer Art magazine called Warm Brothers Magazine, very excited about that.

Is there an overall message, feeling or theme that your art is meant to evoke?
My main goal with my Art is to authentically express myself. The themes and messages vary but I feel I’ve been successful at creating something if I consume the finished product and think, “Yes, this is who I am.” As long as I have that moment I don’t worry about how it’s received, though I always hope others will connect to that authenticity as I have in consuming other Artist’s work.

There is no point in being an Artist of any sort unless you are filtering your work through your unique identity and perspective. Teach us about yourself and your history through whatever medium you’ve chosen.

Where do you create?
I read and learn and then get inspired. Specifically with songwriting it’s always different, but typically what gets my juices flowing is an idea or perspective I want to communicate, then I wrap the music around that. The where of it all is anywhere I can sit down and write for a second. I love recording up near Yosemite.

Who or what have you been inspired by recently?
Always inspired by Gore Vidal, both creatively and intellectually. Also Rupaul, Courtney Love, Wonder Woman.

What are you working towards now?
As an adult my main goal is to continue being motivated and inspired to make work with the intention to pay my bills purely using my creativity and Artistic voice. I want to make things 24/7.

Why do you do what you do?
I have no idea! I question it too. Simple cliché answer is it’s who I am, always has been. I love colors and music, new perspectives, words, ideas. I want to be a part of creating culture and moving it forward.
